Freedom: A Slogan for 2011

FREEDOM : A SLOGAN FOR 2011
Freedom is an individual’s perception of liberty to practice free will with respect to his/or her surroundings; be it political freedom, spiritual freedom, intellectual freedom, economic freedom, etc…

A plastic surgeon adds a new dimension of cosmetic freedom to an individual’s life.

A freedom to choose his/or her appearance and looks;
A freedom to be relieved of his/or her disfigurement;
A freedom to retain his/or her youth;
A freedom from wrinkles;
A freedom from drooping body contours;
A freedom from relentless hair fall,
A freedom from every fortnightly painful removal of unwanted body hair;
A freedom from the spots of ageing cropping up all over the body and face;
Last but not the least, a freedom to choose not to go under the surgeons knife for these needs!!!!!!

The slogan of a plastic surgeon is: "Give us a problem and we will give you the solution." Since the time of Sushruta 400BC, plastic surgery has been a problem solving speciality.

The problem of ageing is a secular one, unbiased by gender, caste or creed and the non surgical solutions are numerous in the armamentarium of the plastic surgeon (cosmetic surgeon). It can be Botulinum toxin for early wrinkles, a thread lift for late wrinkles and/or Fractional CO2 laser for skin rejuvenation.

Hair transplant has revolutionized the treatment of balding males and now even females confide to get the procedure done for receding hairlines. Few hours of your day, while you enjoy a movie/ hum to your favourite songs sitting in the surgeons chair, the procedure is done and you walk back home.

Unwanted body hair can be a cause of duress for any socialite. Repeated threading of upper lip and eye brows leaves an unaesthetic pigmentation which then has to be camouflaged by shadows and liners; fortnightly visits to the beauticians' parlour for bleaching of the facial hair and waxing of arms, legs and chest and abdomen (including genitalia). These painful (often complicated with boils/ folliculitis) repetitive visits can be avoided by getting ND:Yag laser treatment as an office procedure. No needles or dressings, takes even lesser time than the parlour. Men with unsightly hair growing out of the ears are at a gain from the weekly trim. An alternate remedy for smelly underarms!!!!!!

All major cosmetic creams promise a reduction of spots of ageing (moles/nevi/ post acne scars); with variable results. CO2 laser removes and restores normal skin. Even the slogan of No Pain No gain, sheds its 'No Pain' tag.

"Freedom: A slogan for 2011" a fitting New Year Resolution!!!! You would agree.
